In the senior hub we all had to make a recycling poster and most people where in a group of 4 .

We had to do a definition, what we can recycle and what we can't.

My group had lots of photos in ours to make it look good and fun.

My time at the exclusive hotel

As soon as I got my permission slip to go to a coding shop I thought it would
be extremely boring, but after all I was wrong. When I got in the minibus I felt
free. Singing as loud as I could made me so happy. Looking outside the
window at all the flash cars and the city. At the split second we were there.

It was fancy and posh. The first step in you could see a massive tv and a
long hallway. Our room was quite far away but I didn't mined because we got
to look around. As soon as I walked in our room I saw a big chandelier and lots
of computers. In my mind I thought we were sharing the room with another
school but after all we didn’t.

We met this man called Michael and a lady called Sarah. They told us how to
use scratch so we could make a game called Ghostbusters. It was a bit hard
but I finished it in the end. I was really happy for myself and my friends.
My teachers had a go at making their own and it was very funny to watch.
There were people who came from other countries to come in and out to
check our work they were very nice. The people where from the D5 summit.
There were cameras coming to take photos of us and videos.

I found it very interesting and I don’t think I wasted my time at all.
I loved it how it was all girls and it wasn't too crowded. I would love to go there
again. I can’t what to do some of this inside of our class.

My Highlight for the start of 2018

2018

1. What I've liked about 2018 so far Is that I went to Cambridge and did waka ama sprints.
2. Coming back to school and finding out that I have a new teacher.
3. Meeting some new friends.
4. Seeing my friends and playing with them.
5. Going to the code club.
6. Seeing my family and having fun.
7. Playing sports with the Senior hub.
8. Weaving with paper.
9. Seeing who the new house captains are. 
10. Doing my job as sick bay monitor.

Reuse

Reuse

Last week the senior hub had to do a poster about Reuse, Reduce and Recycle. For Reuse my partner was Misganaw. It was pretty hard because we only got 2 days to do a big poster. Some groups got to show the class what they did but not all because there where  about 20 groups in the senior hub. 

It was a bit hard to find all the information but I'm happy with what it looked like in the end.

1. What did you accomplish?

My accomplishment was to finish my woven art and follow the pattern

2. Are you satisfied with your woven photo portrait? Why / Why not?

I'm not satisfied because I didn't take my time and the lines don't line up

3. What did you find easy when you created your woven photo portrait?

What I found easy was doing the same pattern through onto the photo

4. What did you find challenging when you were weaving your woven

photo portrait?

I found it difficult on lining the lines up and putting strips in place

5. What do you need to work on?

I need to work on taking my time and remembering what number I was on

6. What would you adjust with your woven photo portrait?

I would change the colour because too many people chose blue
backgrounds

7. What would you do next time to improve your self portrait?

Take my time and line the strips up properly

All about me

Last week we started back at school. Our teacher Miss Paton wanted to know more about us so she showed us to do an "All about me" poster on Google Drawings.

Room 1's Birthdays

April was the most celebrated with 3 people. March, June and November had 0 people celebrating in those months. February, May, October and December had 2 people celebrating in those months. January, July, August and September had 1 people celebrating in those months.

Kia Ora my name is Charlee. I am in Year 5 and I’m in Room 1. In my spare time I like to go swimming and playing basketball. In the holidays I went to Cambridge to do a Waka Ama competition. I am 10 years old.
