Should all shops be open on ANZAC Day?
On 25th April (ANZAC Day) all shops close until 1.00PM in the
afternoon.
The only days shops legally close on are, Christmas Day,
Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Dads, husbands, sons, brothers, uncles and grandfathers have
served our country by going to World War 1, World War 2 and
other wars around the world.
Men had been wounded several times and some have died and
some have lived. I think they should keep ANZAC Day retail
hours just the way they are.

Parades and Church Masses.
Parades and Church masses nomaly start before 1.00PM in the
afternoon so the people who work at the local shops will have
time to go and support their country before they go to work.
The workers attend a parade and a church mass on this day
and then from there they can earn some money. They might
be very use to earning money on ANZAC DAY because this
law has been implemented for years. People might have
forgotten to go shopping one night and want to throw a party or
want to buy their family some flower’s to lay down at the
cemetery.

Other Countries

New Zealand
New Zealanders celebrate ANZAC Day by going to a Church
service or to a dawn parade. At the parades they gather up all
the clubs of the community and all the military groups. Air force
members fly planes on this day. Some parades have cannons
that blow of into the ocean.

America
Veterans Day is officially observed on November 11. However,
if it falls on a weekday, many communities hold their
celebrations on the weekend closest to this date.

Britain
In Britain, Remembrance Day is celebrated on November 11th.
Remembrance Day marks the end of fighting in World War I.
It is celebrated throughout the British Commonwealth, but in
England, the British Royal Family assembles outside for two
minutes of silence beginning at 11 a.m. Poppies have become
the symbol of the day in England; wreaths are laid at war
memorials and small artificial ones are worn on clothing.

Conclusion
That is why I strongly think shops should be open on ANZAC
Day, so people can get their provisions and will not go without.
There are people who are struggling to pay bills and it is in
their right to have the choice over what days they should work.
Lots of people have different opinions but I am a firm believer
that all shops should be open on ANZAC Day.
