Togs or Trackies?
What time is it best to visit New Zealand?
I personally think the best time to visit New Zealand is early January. Why?
Because it is nice and hot. What thing can you do?

  1. Go down to the beach and have fish and chips on the beach but remember to pack your togs sunblock.
  2. Go have a walk in the city. In the city you can go see the sky tower.
  3. Go see a sports game because New Zealand is a very sporty countrie you can go watch the All blacks, The Worriers and more.
Those are some of the reasons you should cme a visit New Zealand

Day 5 - Activity 3 - Week 2 - Summer Learning Journey

Faded Glory
If I had to fundraise in New Zealand I will:

  1. Do a sausage sizzle because lots of New Zealanders like to have a sausage sizzle after the sports game or something.
  2. Busking. Lots of kiwis busk to make a little bit of money. So don't be shy and sing or play your instrument.
  3. Have a garage sale. Lots of New Zealanders have junk in there Garage so why don't you sale some of the junk. It will make your house a bit more cleaner and you  get some money.

Day 5 - Activity 2 - Week 2 - Summer Learning Journey

The Black Drain
Tarawera River Is located in the bay of plenty. The bay of plenty is not in Auckland it is in Whakatane. People call Tarawera river black drain because below the Ogi and Norske Skog pulp and paper mills at Kawerau the river becomes brown, sluggish and sad.

Day 5 - Activity 1 - Week 2 - Summer Learning Journey

Off the Menu
My dad likes to fish. Fishing is really fun and it keeps you busy. But it is not fun when you don't catch any fish. I think the rule of fishing is fair. People go out to fish and catch a lot but some people don't catch any.
But I think it is a bit unfair too because people shouldn't be fined just because they overfished.
If my dad came back to my house from a fishing trip and he came back with nothing I will be so disappointed. But if my dad came back from a fishing trip with too much I will be disappointed too.

Do you think it is unfair?

Day 4 - Activity 3 - Week 2 - Summer Learning Journey

Picture Perfect
Lots of people take selfies. It can be with 1 person up to 10 people. At the same time lots of people do it different places. I normally take selfie with lots of people in a public space.
These People are just taking a random Selfie. Everybody is surrounding the phone. Someone must of just thought all my friend are her so why don't I take a Selfie. In the photo people are smiling and 1 guy is doing a hand gescher. These Men are about 16 to 17 years old. They look like they are family members or friends. They might of came from a work thing or are going to a work thing. They have blue keypad necklaces on. They are wearing casual clothes like a T-shirt and a pair of shorts.
This is a selfie my friends and I took after school.
Some girls in this are doing hand gestures and Facial Expressions. But other girls are just smiling. We were all wearing our school uniform. In this selfie we put the camera on the floor and some of us were sitting and other were standing.

In both selfies you can see that we were all having a good time with our friend and family.

Daffodil Art

This is my Daffodil Art that we made with Miss Paton. It was really fun and interesting because we have never made something like this before. The first step was going outside and we had to use crayons and make a pattern, we had to make 3 papers. Then we had to diy 1 paper yellow 3 times, 1 paper orange 3 times and 1 paper green 3 times. Then we had to cut the yellow paper 18 times because we had 6 petals on 1 daffodil. Then we had to make a trumpet witch was the orange one. We had to cut 3 thick lines and fold them into circles and we had to cut 1 cm lines on the top and fold them out. Then we had to get a green paper and fold them into a pipe and glue them on to the flower. Then we had to go outside again and use crayons to colour 3 other pieces of paper. Then you can pick any 3 diy colours and diy each paper 3 times. Then you have to make any size of vase. Then with your other 2 papers you have to make a board by making thin stripes then cut them out but first you need to measure how wide you want you boarder. The when you cut your stripes you need to make 3 cm pieces of paper and glue them on.

Wonderings in the Auckland zoo

Wonderings in the Auckland Zoo

Why do flamingos stand on one leg?Image result for flamingos stand on 1 leg png
Researchers from the US have uncovered that the iconic bird has a unique mechanism in their
legs that fixes together when straight meaning they don't have to expend any muscular energy.

Why do Zebras have stripes?Image result for zebra png
Some have suggested that the stripes may help zebras camouflage themselves and escape
from lions and other predators.

Why are some pandas red?Image result for red panda png
It has been classified as a relative of the giant panda, and also of the raccoon, with which it
shares a ringed tail.

Why are Giraffes necks so tall? Image result for giraffe png

Most people assume that giraffes' long necks evolved to help them feed. If you have a long
neck, runs the argument, you can eat leaves on tall trees that your rivals can't reach.

Hybrid creature

I can see a pink hybrid animal it is a pig and a cat. The cat looks muscular and like a sphinx cat.
It’s ears are pricked and transparent. It’s tail is like a whip and the cat is very wrinkled and flabby like
a shar pei dog. It’s paws are thick and sharp. It has a face like a pig and the nose is a pig snout. It’s
back is very boney and bumpy. If I felt it I imagine it to feel rough but smooth at the same time and
skin like an old person. It might even be slimy and jiggly. All I can tell you is that it is weird and different.

ANZAC Day

ANZAC Day
Related image
Should all shops be open on ANZAC Day?
On 25th April (ANZAC Day) all shops close until 1.00PM in the
afternoon.
The only days shops legally close on are, Christmas Day,
Good Friday and Easter Sunday.
Dads, husbands, sons, brothers, uncles and grandfathers have
served our country by going to World War 1, World War 2 and
other wars around the world.
Men had been wounded several times and some have died and
some have lived. I think they should keep ANZAC Day retail
hours just the way they are.

Parades and Church Masses.
Parades and Church masses nomaly start before 1.00PM in the
afternoon so the people who work at the local shops will have
time to go and support their country before they go to work.
The workers attend a parade and a church mass on this day
and then from there they can earn some money. They might
be very use to earning money on ANZAC DAY because this
law has been implemented for years. People might have
forgotten to go shopping one night and want to throw a party or
want to buy their family some flower’s to lay down at the
cemetery.

Other Countries

New Zealand
New Zealanders celebrate ANZAC Day by going to a Church
service or to a dawn parade. At the parades they gather up all
the clubs of the community and all the military groups. Air force
members fly planes on this day. Some parades have cannons
that blow of into the ocean.

America
Veterans Day is officially observed on November 11. However,
if it falls on a weekday, many communities hold their
celebrations on the weekend closest to this date.

Britain
In Britain, Remembrance Day is celebrated on November 11th.
Remembrance Day marks the end of fighting in World War I.
It is celebrated throughout the British Commonwealth, but in
England, the British Royal Family assembles outside for two
minutes of silence beginning at 11 a.m. Poppies have become
the symbol of the day in England; wreaths are laid at war
memorials and small artificial ones are worn on clothing.

Conclusion
That is why I strongly think shops should be open on ANZAC
Day, so people can get their provisions and will not go without.
There are people who are struggling to pay bills and it is in
their right to have the choice over what days they should work.
Lots of people have different opinions but I am a firm believer
that all shops should be open on ANZAC Day.
