  1. Hey Charlee.

Happy Friday to you. Only one week left of the Summer Learning Journey. Things are moving along very nicely. It's great to see how many tasks you have done. you still have time to do more tasks and get points. Lots of amazing prizes you can get too.

Great to see you know exactly how your family would be celebrating a win. I think it's really special when families have traditions they do and always do them together as a family.
BBQs are always the best! they are so much fun and always always taste so good!!!
My family would actually spend it the same way as your family I think. Very kiwi classic.

Keep up the great blogging and I look forward to seeing more wonderful blogging from you over the next week.

  2. Hey Charlee,

My name is Megan and I am the cluster manager for the Ako Hiko cluster. I am just going through and tallying up all the points so I can come back to Christ the King School and present the prizes! I am excited to see that you have been so busy, with a number of the Summer Learning Journey team and other students commenting on your work. Have you enjoyed participating in the programme? The good news is that we will be back again so would love to see you participating in our next programmes.

I loved reading that you celebrate big events with a hangi. How awesome is that? Do you have a job that you help with when your family is prepping the hangi food? Maybe peeling the potatoes and kumara? How long does it take you to cook the hangi?

This reminds me when I was at school we had the opportunity to prep a hangi and watch as they made the hangi pit. We then cooked the hangi and had the best dinner. I have often eaten food cooked in a hangi but that has been the only time I have seen one made. I would love to celebrate birthdays by cooking a hangi. Do you have any other traditions you do when celebrating a big event?

Thank you for your participation on the Summer Learning Journey, I am looking forward to see you soon.

    Have a beautiful day,
    Megan :)
