Day 3 - Activity 1 - Week 4 - Summer Learning Journey

Predator Free 2050 – A Call to Arms
I liked the 1st video the most because It taught me how he made stuff and how he could watch and hear stuff. I personally think that this is amazing because you don't have to just use it on animals. The first one was interesting because in a part in the video there was a rat on top of his experiment. So you could see that his experiment worked.

  1. Hi Charlee,

It's Leslie here, reading your blog from my home in Canada. I'm a member of the Summer Learning Journey team and it's fun to see what you've been working on over your summer holiday. I'm so glad that you've chosen to be part of this program!

I found the Cacaphony program really impressive too! What a creative way of seeing and hearing and trapping predator animals! The equipment used doesn't seem too complicated - a camera, a trap and a smart phone to run things. What a good idea.

Would you like to be an inventor one day and come up with ideas as to how to solve problems? Do you have any idea yourself as to how to tackle the predator issue?

I have a friend here in Canada who is an inventor. He's created many different machines to solve many different problems so it's very interesting to talk to him and learn about how he tackles each task.

I'm glad that there's an organization in New Zealand that's working to reduce the number of predators in your country. The native birds and animals need protection, don't they?!

I'll continue to read your blog. Keep up your great work!

    Cheers,

    Leslie
